Bank Junction
A fineliner illustration of Bank Junction, the historic heart of London’s financial district, where centuries of commerce meet the fast-paced rhythm of the modern city. Hand-drawn by artist, Josua Hattingh, available as a gallery-quality giclée print.
The Story
This drawing is part of Josua’s London series, created soon after his first experiments with fineliner art. While Piccadilly captured the people that animate the West End, Bank Junction reflects on the movement and momentum of the City as a financial hub.
The site has been central to London’s identity since AD 886, when it became the city’s first marketplace for bartering and trade. Today, the same space pulses with hurried commuters, iconic red buses, and the architecture of global finance. For Josua, the mix of deep history and relentless modern action made Bank Junction a natural subject, a place where London’s past and future collide in constant motion.
